1. I think repealing rent control is a good option. It’s pretty much universally recognized as a policy that does more harm than good. The only potential trade off to repealing it is that short term rents will go up. But that would be cancelled out by the long term positive effect of expanded supply.
  2. Reforming zoning is the way to go. Abolishing it isn’t even necessary. We just need to expand supply, and hence we need to reform the zoning system to allow for the creation of new homes.
